Here is the first corner post. It's drilled at the bottom to accept the 1" dowel that will hold it in place, and it has two mortices at the top to accept the sill beams. The 2x4's nailed to it are just temporary braces to hold it plumb during construction.

Here are both conrner posts on one side. The stack of short bits of timber was for me to stand on whilst I pounded the post down onto the dowel. It's a bit of a tight fit, which is good.

Here are all four corner posts in place.

This shows the mortice and tenon for the first stud. The mortice is 2" wide, 4" long, and 2" deep.
